While researching…

I found the following quotes:

“If I never met you, I wouldn’t like you. If I didn’t like you, I wouldn’t love you. If I didn’t love you, I wouldn’t miss you. But I did, I do, and I will.”

“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn’t it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life…You give them a piece of you. They didn’t ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn’t your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like ‘maybe we should be just friends’ turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It’s a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.”
–Neil Gaiman

“Love is when you shed a tear and still want him, it’s when he ignores you and you still love him, it’s when he loves another girl but you still smile and say I’m happy for you, when all you really do is cry.”

“Sometimes you wake up. Sometimes the fall kills you. And sometimes, when you fall, you fly.”
–Neil Gaiman

“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.”
–Abraham Lincoln

I was actually just looking for:

“Dance like nobody’s watching; love like you’ve never been hurt. Sing like nobody’s listening; live like it’s heaven on earth.”
— Mark Twain

So she dances…

These are lyrics to my favourite song of the moment. It’s by Josh Groban. If you haven’t discovered Josh, I suggest you go to your itunes store (or go to a CD store like I did) and have a listen.

So She Dances

A waltz when she walks in the room
She pulls back the hair from her face
She turns to the window to sway in the moonlight
Even her shadow has grace
A waltz for the girl out of reach
She lifts her hands up to the sky
She moves with the music
The song is her lover
The melody’s making her cry
So she dances
In and out of the crowd like a glance
This romance is
From afar calling me silently

A waltz for the chance I should take
But how will I know where to start?
She’s spinning between constellations and dreams
Her rhythm is my beating heart

So she dances
In and out of the crowd like a glance
This romance is
From afar calling me silently

I can’t keep on watching forever
I give up this view just to tell her

When I close my eyes I can see
The spotlights are bright on you and me
We’ve got the floor
And you’re in my arms
How could I ask for more?

So she dances
In and out of the crowd like a glance
This romance is
From afar calling me silently

I can’t keep on watching forever
And I’m givin’ up this view just to tell her

Colors…

I thought I would post a song which I like from Amos Lee.

Yesterday I got lost in the circus
Feeling like such a mess
Now I’m down I’m just hanging on the corner
I can’t help but reminisce
When you’re gone all the colours fade
When you’re gone no New Year’s Day parade
You’re gone
Colours seem to fade

Your mama called she said that you’re down stairs crying
Feeling like such a mess
Yeah I hear you you’re in the background bawling
What happened to your sweet summertime dress

I know we all, we all got our faults
We get locked in our vaults and we stay
But when you’re gone all the colours fade
When you’re gone no New Year’s Day parade
You’re gone
Colours seem to fade
Colours seem to fade
Yeah

This made me think…

The following quote is from Black (written by Ted Dekker). Dekker is a Christian writer. It made me think about the place of evil in our society and why God didn’t just destroy the devil when he first became evil.

“How is it that Elyon can allow evil to exist in the black forest? Why doesn’t he just destroy the Shataiki?”
“Because evil provides his creation with a choice,” the child said as though the concept was very simple indeed. “And because without it, there would be no love.”
“Love?” Tom stopped.
The boy’s hand slipped out of his. He turned, brow raised.
“Love is dependent on evil?” Tom asked.
“Did I say that?” A mischievous glint filled the boy’s eyes. “How can there be love without a true choice? Would you suggest that man be stripped of the capacity to love?”
This was the Great Romance. To love at any cost.

What do you think about this subject?

How annoying….

I’m so annoyed at myself! I seem to have missed the second part of the lost finale! I didn’t realise it was a 2 hour one, so I only have the first part… I guess I’ll have to wait and see if they show it again in the build up to season 3. Episode summaries are just not the same thing! Grrr me!

Is it just me…

or does lost seem more confusing than ever. We are up to the season two finale (to be played Wednesday) and I think I have more questions than ever before? What the heck is going on LOL? I read somewhere that the season two finale will clear up a lot of these questions but I somehow doubt it.

If you are a fan of lost, check out this site and download a Dharma Initiative Countdown Clock! You too can have the fun of making it tick over every 108 minutes! I would love to know what happens if you don’t push the button hehe.

Lucky days are here again…

I have had a lucky day today (actually it’s more that God was looking out for me). I went to buy curtains for our Sunday School. Not only were they on special for half price but because I had a coupon, I got another 10% off. We saved over $100!

Next I did something that I was dreading that I’d do sometime. I clipped the gate driving in to where I park my car at home. I inspected the scrap, almost started to freak out but got the idea to rub it instead. It came off (Wooden gate), so no scratches and no panel beating costs…How miraculous is that? God looking after me again for sure!

On an unrelated note - I really enjoyed The Legend of Zorro. Zorro
